Lunar Love
You seem so mystical when peering down
Upon me from above; I meet your gaze
With star-filled eyes. From nowhere a gray haze
Appears, a type of mask – is this to clown
Your face from pondering minds on the ground?
O shy Moon, from what do you hide? Our praise?
Due to your magic most men have been crazed
With love so great one could hear their hearts pound.
Your lunar power draws out primate lust,
The reflective light that glisten from you
Delivers magical embers to burn
Upon my soul’s earnest desire. “Trust, trust,”
The winds beckon unto me. “Just be true
to the man for which you secretly yearn.”
